Pakistan Expels Indian Diplomat
India and Pakistan have issued orders to expel each other’s diplomats for the second time following a conflict.
On Thursday, May 22, 2025, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry declared another Indian diplomat in Islamabad “persona non grata” and gave them 24 hours to leave the country.
According to media reports, India has also accused a Pakistani diplomat in New Delhi of “espionage” and ordered their expulsion.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry stated that it summoned the Indian Charge d’Affaires in Islamabad to convey this decision. Pakistan accused the Indian diplomat of engaging in activities beyond their diplomatic mandate.
This move by Pakistan is in response to India’s recent decision. India had previously accused a Pakistani diplomat in New Delhi of “espionage,” declared them “persona non grata,” and given them 24 hours to leave the country.
This marks the second instance of India and Pakistan expelling each other’s diplomats following a deadly conflict.
