Chaman Protest Movement: Pakistan Has Facilitated Human Trafficking

Members of the Chaman Protest Movement claim that Pakistan, by imposing restrictions on movement at the Chaman-Spin Boldak crossing, has created conditions conducive to human trafficking.

The movement’s members have once again warned that they will not succumb to any pressure from Pakistan and will continue their protests until visa-free movement resumes at the Chaman-Spin Boldak crossing.

Sadiq Khan Achakzai, the spokesperson for the Chaman Protest Movement, stated: “Human trafficking is taking place here, and some Pakistani officials are involved in this trade because they have destroyed commerce here, left people unemployed, and are simultaneously engaging in human trafficking.”

Ghausullah, a leader of the Chaman Protest Movement, said during a protest gathering: “If we compromise on these protests, we are sold out and spies. If not, those who spread false propaganda against us should keep their mouths shut.”

Mohammad Wali, another leader of the movement, said: “We demand movement with identity cards and recognition cards. Every sorrow comes to us in this city; all the people in the city are in distress.”

Members of the Chaman Protest Movement further added that the Pakistani government is attempting to weaken the residents of Chaman by damaging trade and businesses on both sides of the imaginary line. However, the Pakistani government has not yet commented on these allegations.
