Israel’s War Minister Warns of Need for Increased Budget to Confront Iran and Gaza WarIsrael’s War

Minister, Yisrael Katz, has emphasized the urgent need for an increased budget for the Ministry of War to address the unprecedented security challenges facing Israel, particularly from Iran, and to achieve Tel Aviv’s objectives in the ongoing Gaza war.

citing Maan, Katz stated that allocating more financial resources to the ministry is critical to bolster Israel’s defense and offensive capabilities in the face of these threats.

Katz openly acknowledged that confronting Iran, identified as one of Israel’s primary threats, requires significant additional funding.

This statement comes amid reports of economic strain on Israel due to the ongoing conflicts.

According to a report by Israel’s Channel 13, citing the Central Bureau of Statistics, Tel Aviv’s economy experienced a decline in key economic indicators during the second quarter of the current year—the first such decline since the onset of the Gaza war.

The report highlighted that the war with Iran and the Gaza conflict have negatively impacted Israel’s economic performance.

Previously, the Israeli newspaper Maariv reported that the cost of the conflict with Iran has amounted to tens of billions of shekels, with estimates reaching up to $14 billion. Additionally, Israeli media outlets have reported that the cost of military operations in the Gaza Strip has reached a staggering $81 billion so far.

In a related development, Fouad Izadi, an international affairs analyst, stated that Israel might launch an attack on Iran if it believes it has a high chance of success
