Doha Hosts Preparatory Meeting of Arab and Islamic Foreign Ministers
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Doha will host a preparatory meeting of Arab and Islamic foreign ministers on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
This meeting, held one day before the extraordinary summit of leaders, aims to address the recent aggression by the Israeli regime against Qatar.
Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the gathering reflects the broad solidarity of Arab and Islamic nations with Qatar in response to this hostile act.
Al-Ansari emphasized that the preparatory meeting provides an opportunity to coordinate positions and formulate a unified strategy to counter this aggression, which is considered a clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty.
He added, “This meeting will send a strong message to the international community that Arab and Islamic countries stand united in defending their rights.” The foreign ministers are expected to analyze the political, legal, and military dimensions of the aggression and propose recommendations for the leaders’ summit.
The summit of Arab and Islamic leaders, scheduled for Monday in Doha, is seen as a pivotal moment in the region’s response to this crisis. Qatar, a key regional player, enjoys widespread support from Arab and Islamic nations.
The meetings come amid heightened regional tensions due to Israel’s recent actions. Diplomatic sources indicate that Qatar seeks to garner international support to condemn the aggression and adopt deterrent measures.
Doha, with its history of hosting international summits, once again underscores its role as a hub for regional diplomacy.
The summit’s final statement is expected to include calls for urgent action by the international community, including the United Nations, to prevent such aggressions in the future.
The gathering will also serve as an opportunity to strengthen regional cooperation in addressing shared challenges.
