Recent Events: Russia Accepts Proposed Ambassador of Afghanistan’s Islamic Emirate

Dmitry Zhirnov, Russia’s Ambassador to Kabul, has formally delivered a note of acceptance for the proposed ambassador of Afghanistan’s Islamic Emirate to Moscow to the Acting Foreign Minister.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting, which took place today (Sunday), focused on opening a new chapter in Afghanistan-Russia relations, agreements reached at the Kazan meeting, and the activities of joint working committees between the two countries.

Zhirnov expressed hope that elevating diplomatic relations would foster the development of cooperation between the two nations in various fields.

On the other hand, Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Foreign Minister, welcomed the new phase in relations with Russia and expressed optimism that both countries could further expand bilateral cooperation in various sectors during this stage.
